Titanic Studios 5 & 6 are located in a 42,000ft2 building adjacent Titanic Sudios 1 – 4.

Belfast Harbour Commissioners and Titanic Quarter Ltd submitted a planning application (Z/2011/0118/F) proposing the new studios in February 2011. The application was approved in November 2011 and construction commenced in November 2011. The new studios were completed in March 2012.

The steel framed sound stage building was designed by Todd Architects. The £8.3m development was assisted by a £3.4m loan from Invest Northern Ireland to Titanic Film Studios Ltd. The two new sound stages were officially opened by First Minister Peter Robinson MLA and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness MLA on 8th October 2012. The Ministers unveiled plaques naming the stages after two Belfast born filmmakers. The Hurst Stage is named after film director Brian Desmond Hurst and the MacQuitty Stage is named after film producer William MacQuitty.
