A planning application (Z/2008/0772/F) submitted in March 2008 proposed to develop 56 apartments within three apartment blocks arranged around a central communal courtyard with basement parking. The application was approved in March 2010.
During 2007 the site was offered for sale at £6.5m. Later in 2010 the development site was offered for sale inviting offers in the region of £1.5m. During 2013 the site was marketed for sale seeking offers of £350,000.
In July 2014 Property Frontiers began marketing ‘The Sandford’ as a ‘new buy-to-let opportunity’ with 56 one and two bedroom apartments and duplexes priced from £95,000 – £117,000 and yields of 7-8%.
Site clearance works took place during March – April 2015.
Cultra Developments Ltd submitted a planning application (LA04/2015/0707/F) in June 2015 proposing to develop 56no. apartments with basement car parking. The application was approved in May 2016.
Construction commenced during summer 2016 and completed during July 2019.
Dream Apartments, a serviced apartment operator, acquired 30 units within the Sandford building.
