123 York Street is a 13-storey purpose built managed student accommodation building opened September 2019.
The site was previously part occupied by a five-storey office building known as Philip House (demolished May 2017).
York Street (No.1) Ltd submitted a planning application (Z/2015/0177/F) in February 2015 proposing to develop a purpose built managed student accommodation building comprising 407no. rooms over ground floor retail unit, reception, office, gym, cycle parking and car parking. The application was approved in October 2016.
Turkington Construction commenced construction in January 2018 and completed the building during early September 2019.

A second phase is proposed on a vacant site at the corner of Little Patrick Street and Little York Street to accommodate 94 additional bedrooms within a twelve storey extension.
