The project involved the renovation of a listed Georgian textile warehouse of approximately 18,844sq ft and the construction of three new contemporary buildings of 40,000sq ft on the adjoining vacant land.
The warehouse building is now named Cooper's Court after the barrel makers who previously occupied the site. BIH Housing Association provide 33 one and two bedroom apartments within the development. The new build section of Talbot Street provides ground floor commercial space currently occupied by a number of restaurants. The Northern Ireland War Memorial Exhibition moved from Waring Street to a new ground floor unit on Talbot Street in 2007. Above ground floor the new build section of Talbot Street provides office accommodation and a business centre established by the developer, Barnabas Ventures. The Midtown Centre was fitted out bu Robinson McIlwaine Architects in 2008 with a budget of £500,000. The Business Centre provides three floors of office space and IT conference facilities. |
