The hotel development was designed by Halliday Ramsay in a contract worth £8.5m. Construction was completed in August 2004 with the 132 room hotel opening the following month.
Extension to the Radisson Hotel (2007)… Plans being presented by Inislyn (operators of the Radisson) and Consarc Design Group call for a five storey extension. This will provide a ground floor spa, pool and kitchens, a 600 seat function room on the first floor and five meeting rooms on the second floor. The third and fourth floors will provide 30 bedrooms each. The estimated cost of such a development is £10m according to reports from the January meeting of the Councils Development Committee. To address parking issues, which have been highlighted many times within the Gasworks site, Inislyn propose a four and a half deck car park for 360 cars. To provide funding for the development Inislyn plan to build a stand alone 35,000sq ft five storey office building costing approx. £4m. |
