The former Ballynafeigh Police Station closed to the public in February 2011. The 0.29 hectare site was placed on the market by Lambert Smith Hampton in January 2016 with offers invited in the region of £900,000. Dougan Residential and Commercial acquired the site on behalf of property developer Mr. P. Drayne in December 2016.
Knockburn Ltd submitted a planning application (LA04/2018/1415/F) during May 2018 proposing to develop a mixed use development of two buildings comprising 59no. apartments, 3no. ground floor commercial units, basement car parking and external landscaped areas. The application was amended (reducing the number of apartments to 57) and recommended approval by Belfast’s Planning Committee in December 2018.
