Beaumont Inns Ltd submitted a planning application (Z/2013/1069/F) in September 2013 proposing to demolish the existing building and develop a four-storey building comprising a ground floor food retail unit and betting office and 21no. apartments above. An amendment to the application in November 2014 introduced a pitched roof with dormer windows to replace the previously proposed flat roof. The scheme was also reduced from 21no. to 16no. apartments and the proposed ground floor retail unit was replaced with a proposed public bar. The application was approved in January 2016.
