An 11-storey office building designed by RMI Architects and developed by McAleer & Rushe between 1990 – 1992.
McAleer & Rushe submitted a planning application (Z/1989/2850) in October 1989 proposing an office building with ground floor retail and car parking at nos.32-34 Great Victoria Street. The application was approved in December 1989. A further application (Z/1990/2132) in February 1990 proposed to amend the scheme to include an extension incorporating no.36 Great Victoria Street. The application was approved in May 1990.
The NI Housing Executive occupied the building from 1992 – 2019.
SM Great Victoria Street Ltd submitted a planning application (LA04/2019/0335/F) in January 2019 proposing to refurbish and extend the existing building. The application was approved in November 2019.
The redevelopment will create a 90,000ft2 building comprising 68,900ft2 (GIA) of office floor space (an additional c.4,100ft2 of office floor space).
Internal strip out of the existing building commenced late 2019 and O’Neill Building Works Ltd commenced main works in January 2019 with scaffolding erected by Advanced NI Scaffolding.
