Harland & Wolff Paint Shed
Paint Hall Studios The Paint Hall Studios are located on an eight acre site within the Titanic Quarter on Queen's Road. Belfast Harbour Commissioners own the land who then lease to Titanic Quarter Ltd who subsequently lease to Northern Ireland Screen. Studios 1 - 4 The original Harland & Wolff Paint Shed (64,000 sq ft) now provides four 16,000 sq ft “cells”. The cells are set out in a square and connected by an internal road and streets. Each cell is 90ft / 27.5m tall and has one 3ft / 1m thick external “wall” (this is actually a 75ft / 23m tall door. The old Paint Shed also provides office space, five dedicated workshops, a “green room” and its own internal electrical substation providing 110v, 240v and 3 phase power to the whole building. Studios 5 - 6 In February 2011 a planning application was submitted by Belfast Harbour Commissioners and Titanic Quarter Ltd to construct two new film studios to the rear of the existing former Harland & Wolff Paint Shed (now converted into four film studios). The proposal was granted planning permission in November 2011. The new studio building is designed by Todd Architects and is of a steel framed structure on a piled foundation on an existing concrete hardstanding. The |
