During 2011 Seamus Gillan's South Bank Square Ltd purchased the land formally owned by Peter Dolan's Jermon Developments on which the South Bank Square scheme was planned. South Bank Square Ltd took forward the design that Robinson McIlwaine previously prepared for Jermon Developments for a hotel at the Great Victoria Street end of the South Bank Square site. In February 2012 Seamus Gillan confirmed that an agreement and lease were in place with French company Accor to operate a 4 star Novotel Hotel on the site.
