Barnabas Ventures purchased the old factory at 27 - 37 Adelaide Street , originally built in 1905, for £4.6m in 2007. In September 2007 Todd Architects were commissioned to refurbish and extend the six storey edwardian building into a mixed use development. The proposal was submitted for planning approval in October 2008 and approved in January 2010. The approved proposal is for the regeneration and extension of the warehouse to include a rear extension, removal of floor five and the addition of four new setback floors on top of the derelict warehouse [floors 5-8]. Uses approved include retail [Class A1] and restaurant / organic food hall on ground floor with canopy, 39 live work units on floors 1-4 and 7-8 and office use on floors 5 and 6.
