The funding of the Northern Ireland Science Parks first building was supported by the International Fund for Ireland who provided £2m towards the £6m project. Upon opening the building provided sixteen 2,000sq ft units (8 on each floor) and two 4,000sq ft units. In December 2005 the Innovation Centre became fully let when Microgen took the last available unit.
