|
The first IBIS Hotel for NI was announced as part of a £50m investment by Andras House to bring five new hotels to the province. The demolition of the site was carried out over a week long period in October 2007. The hotel is constructed next to the College Central apartment complex and replaces a Tudor style building previously located on the site. The ten storey hotel occupies a small site of just 0.04ha. at 47-55 King Street and 98-100 Castle Street. The 124 room hotel is designed by Todd Architects and was constructed by MSM Construction between August 2008 and November 2009. The hotel opened to guests on 5 November 2009.
