Planning History:
The site of the Goodwood House development at 44 - 58 May Street had lay underdeveloped for years as a private car park. In July 1999 a planning application was submitted by SP Properties through Lambert Smith Hampton to construct a seven storey office building with basement parking. The application was granted approval in August 2000 although in March 2001 a further application was submitted to add an additional two storeys to the proposed building. The additional two floors were approved in March 2002. The Development: The nine storey steel framed office building was designed by Poval Worthington Architects with brick cavity walls and concrete floors. The ninth floor was clad in kingspan micro-rib composite cladding panels. Following completion of the £6m building in 54 weeks by Patton Construction a £5m fitout contract began and was completed in 14 weeks, also by Patton Construction. |
