Glenmachen Gateway |

A planning application for a "gateway" mixed use development was submitted in June 2008 outlining proposals for 214 apartments, a 143 bed hotel, offices, retail space and 458 parking spaces. However the application for the land bounded by Glenmachan Street, Glenmachan Place and the M1 was deemed as refused in September 2010 when the applicant failed to submit an Environmental Impact Statement.
From Robinson McIlwaine Architects website: “The design concept for the site is based on a series of stepped twisting towers, strategically located to protect views from adjoining areas and to create attractive vistas from viewpoints into the site. This has resulted in a series of towers, ranging from nine to twenty-one storeys, and low five storey podium buildings.” |
