Plans were originally submitted for approval in August 2005 and approved in June 2007 (Z/2005/1828). The apartments were completed in early 2009, however the retail units had not been let by the summer 2010.


An alternative proposal for the site was submitted by Hackett Hall McKnight Architects which suggested a 90 unit apartment tower with commercial units at ground floor.
