Causeway Exchange |

Work began in October 2001 to redevelop Causeway House into Causeway Exchange. Causeway House was constructed in 1973 to house the Northern Bank however they relocated and in 2002 work was undertaken to strip back of the original façade to expose the original concrete frame and then reclad the building in reconstituted brick and stone. The redevelopment of Causeway House also saw the addition of two additional floors and a rooftop mezzanine level. On the ground and first floor two retail units were provided for and the remainder of the building was renovated into modern office accommodation.
Following completion of the work to redevelop the building JBE Building Services were awarded a £1.5m contract to fit-out all ten floors of the building for the IDB and DOE. The work was completed in 14 weeks. In April 2009 the Department of Culture, Arts & Leisure relocated its 170 staff from the Interpoint Building on York Street to the four upper floors (7 - 10) of Causeway Exchange. The remainder of the building is occupied by the Department of Finance & Personnel. |
