Armagh House |
|
The former government office building Armagh House has lay empty for many years. However in July 2007 the Department for Social Development along with Belfast Regeneration Office announced that they had appointed a preferred developer. In a £20m project Nicholas and Paul Hill would transform the building into a sister development for their Ten Square Hotel in Donegall Square [NB. Ten Square was sold in 2008 to John Miskelly]. The “Drake Aparthotel” would have provided 4 or 5 star facilities for longer term visitors. Subject to planning approval work was expected to begin in October 2008. However in May 2010 it was announced that the development had been dropped due to the economic situation.
