Planning permission was applied for in October 2007 by Nugent Estates for the demolition of the current one storey Delanys restaurant on the corner of Lombard Street and Rosemary Street. This initial planning application sought permission to construct a ten storey building with 22 apartments above a ground and first floor restaurant. An amended proposal was then submitted which reduced the building size from ten storeys to seven and the number of apartments from 22 to 14. This amended plan was approved in May 2009 despite two objections.
