Planning permission was applied for in October 2007 (2007/2766/F) to demolish the existing single storey bingo hall and construct an eight storey building with frontages on both North Street and Kent Street. Planning permission was granted for ground floor retail units 92 apartments on the second to eighth floors. The development is designed by McGirr Architects. In 2009 the potential development site was put on the market with an asking price of around £4.5m.
